  1. Tap the cell to select it.
  2. Tap the formula bar at the bottom of the screen to enter text. This will open the keyboard.
The first callout shows that you have to tap a cell to select it. The second callout shows that you have to tap the formula bar at the bottom of the screen to enter a text. This will also open the keyboard.

  1. This is the icon to open the number keyboard.
  2. This is the icon to format the cell as a date.
  3. Type the text or number into the formula bar. It will appear in the cell you previously selected.
  4. Tap the check mark icon to confirm your edits to the cell. This will remove the keyboard. Tap the formula bar again to restore the keyboard.
The first callout shows a keyboard icon with a number on it to open the number keyboard. The second callout shows the calendar icon to format the cell as a date. The third callout shows a cell that you selected and the text that you entered in the formula bar on it. The fourth callout shows the green check mark that you have to tap to confirm the edits to a cell.
